ITV Meridian and Whiteley Primary School

On Wednesday 8th October 2014, we enjoyed a fun packed morning with both Whiteley Primary School and Amanda Piper from ITV Meridian.

We performed to a room full of delightful children who enjoyed listening to our set and then we took a workshop with some of their string players. Afterwards we performed the James Bond Theme tune with the young players. Some of the players had only been playing for 3 weeks. They did so well! We really enjoyed it.

Amanda Piper from ITV Meridian spent the morning with us as ITV wanted to show what we are doing in Schools across Hampshire, helping to inspire young people to start an instrument and then to keep practising!

The short ITV film also features our cellist, Debbie, as she battles against the effects of Cystic Fibrosis – the UK’s most common life-shortening inherited condition.   We really feel it is important to show to young people, that they can do anything and to try to not let anything get in their way!
