FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a string trio comprised of?

A: Our String Trio is comprised of a violinist, a violist and a cellist

Q: What sort of events would we book you for?

A: Any! We say any event where you want something a bit different, want to add some glamour and contemporary music fused with classical.

We often are asked to play during a drinks reception, or before or after a dinner as a showcase.

Q: Do you play classical instruments too?

A: Yes, we can provide an acoustic set for your event as well as the electric string trio.  This set is perfect for background music, during a dinner or reception.

Q: What does our venue need to provide you?

A: We will require power for us to plug our equipment into.  We will also require adequate space to perform on.    If it is a large venue with many guests – we would ask you to inform us of this so that we can quote for and bring our sound engineer with a large PA system.   Some large venues provide a sound engineer – so please also inform us if this is the case.

In addition, if we are booked at the venue for over an hour – we would expect refreshments to be provided (soft drinks) and if we are at the venue for over 4 hours – some light food would also be required.

Q: What is your definition of a booking?

A: A booking is based on time spent at a venue.  Waiting time incurs an extra fee.

Q: How far do you travel?

A:  We have travelled all over the UK and Europe, but we are mainly based in Southampton, Hampshire.   We can perform at any location but the further away it is, the more it will cost to take time and travel into account.

Q:  How do we book you?

A: Please email us at info@cordelectra.co.uk with your enquiry or telephone us on: 0844 826 0511

Q: Do you have public liability insurance and is your equipment PAT Tested?

Yes each member of the trio has public liability insurance and/or are members of the Musicians Union which includes this insurance.  The equipment has been PAT Tested.
